6. The heart
The topographic projection area for heart disorders is found between 63º and 104º, in coronas 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
The most serious disorders, in most cases, are projected in coronas 4 and 3. Less frequently, less serious cases may be projected in coronas 2, 1, 5 and 6.
Except for some difficult to define disorders and the majority of valve disorders which are seen in the right iris, the rest of these disorders are projected in the left iris.
We shall now show how different heart disorders are projected.

Aortic arch.
Disorders in the aortic arch are projected between 62º and 80º, in corona nº 4, partially extending to coronas nº 3 and nº 5.
They are projected in the left iris.
In most cases two or more signs are associated.
The most representative signs are:
• Alteration in the collar.
• Lighthouse.
• Short spoke originating in the collar, one or more.
• Virtual lacuna.
• Small or medium sized mark.
They are medium or small signs.

Cardiac angor.
This is projected between 78º and 96º in coronas nº 3, nº2 and nº 1.
In most cases, it is projected in the left iris.
The most representative sign is:
• Very small mark with little coloration.
• Spoke without internal support, similar to a wedge, an ambiguous sign.
• Ambiguous crypt.

Heart stroke.
This is projected between 70º and 82º, in coronas nº 4 and nº 3, in most cases, on the line which acts as collar.
Los signos más representativos son:
It is projected in the left iris.
The most representative signs are:
• Alteration in the collar.
• Wedge, this may resemble a very short spoke.
• Small mark, ambiguous.
• Alteration in tone or colour, with the disappearance of a small section of the collar perimeter.
In the majority of cases they are smaller signs than those which are projected by aortic arch disorders.

Myocardial infarction.
This is projected between 80º and 98º, centred on corona nº 4, nº3 and less frequently in coronas nº 2 and 1.
It is projected in the left iris.
In most cases, when the occlusion affects a coronary artery, the sign is centred on the collar line, if the occlusion affects artery branches, the sign extends to inner coronas nº 3, nº2 and nº 1.
In most cases it is projected by ambiguous signs. The most representative are:
• Alteration in the collar, a small section of the collar perimeter disappears.
• Lighthouse or something similar, a small sign.
• Wedge which may resemble a short spoke originating in the collar and in the direction of the pupil and or towards the outside of the iris.
• Small mark, ambiguous.
• Alteration in tone or colour.

Heart valves.
Disorders are projected between 73º and 91º, centred on the collar, extending to coronas nº 4 and nº 3 and less frequently coronas nº 2 and nº 1.
Valve disorders, in most cases, are projected in the right iris.
The most representative signs are:
• Alteration in the collar, short section.
• Small mark.
• Small or diminutive lacunae.
• Wedge.
• Alteration in tone or colour, greater or lesser pigmentation, a sign which is difficult to see.
• Short spoke originating in the collar, one or more, ambiguous.
• Lighthouse.

Cardiac murmur.
This is projected between 80º and 100º, in coronas nº 5, nº4 and nº 6, less frequently in the latter corona.
It is projected in the left iris.
The most representative signs are:
• Virtual lacunae.
• Medium sized spokes originating in the collar, curved.
It is projected by any sign which indicates weakness.

Infection in right or left ventricles.
This is projected in the same topographic area as a cardiac murmur, left iris.
The most representative sign is:
• Alteration in the stroma. A small alteration in the stroma is perceived, with a slightly lighter colour in most cases, although in some cases it is darker.

Pericarditis.
This is projected between 78º and 95º, in corona nº 4.
It is projected in the left iris.
The most representative signs are:
• Small wedge, parallel to the collar.
• Stripe, parallel to the collar.
This is projected by only one sign, in the majority of cases. They are small signs, nevertheless, they are easy to see.

Coronary sclerosis, Arrhythmia and fibrillation; are set out in “Study nº 1”. We are able to observe how other heart disorders are projected throughout the “M.R.I. Course”.
